Having been around for over 40 years, Adorama is one of the most trusted consumer electronics companies out there, and with over 250,000 products in their catalog, you are sure to find the perfect product that your customers will love.
With the Adorama + Geniuslink integration, you can now you can build links and earn commissions through the Adorama affiliate program easier than ever!
Overview
Adorama is a very trusted storefront that has been around since 1974 when Mendel Mendlowits founded it to help photographers of the time get access to the gear that they needed.
Originally a brick and mortar shop located in New York City offering a “one-stop-shop” for photographers and videographers, Adorama has become much more over the years, offering everything from photography gear, to high tech computers and electronics, to Drones, to musical instruments and even telescopes on their adorama.com website!
In fact, Adorama is actually made up of multiple online shopping sites including www.sunnysports.com, https://www.scuba.com, and https://www.printique.com, to fulfil all of your photography, outdoor gear, and scuba diving needs!
However, we are focused only on the adorama.com site itself, which is ranked as the 1,948th most popular site in the United States and #80 for the Computers Electronics And Technology > Consumer Electronics category according to SimilarWeb.
Adorama Affiliate Program
With a huge selection of consumer electronics products, the Adorama Affiliate Program, is a great alternative for those looking to diversify their affiliate portfolio away from using only the Amazon Associates program.
The Adorama Affiliate program is a well established affiliate program run through Impact Radius, and offers many other benefits to their affiliates besides just commissions. Adorama Affiliates also get access to a plethora of other benefits including free shipping for most products, worldwide shipping to 250 countries, and even same day shipping when ordered before 8pm EST!
Commission Rates and Cookie Windows
While the base commission percentage of only 2% is slightly lower than Amazon’s 2.5-4% commission percentage for similar PC and Electronics products, Adorama has an average order size of over $500, which means you will still be able to earn a solid commission for every purchasing customer you refer!
Additionally, their website states that there are performance-based incentives as well on top of that 2% commission, but we were unable to find any further details on what these are at the time of this writing.
Additionally, one area that Adorama has a significant advantage over Amazon and many other competing affiliate programs for these categories, is in its affiliate cookie window.
While Amazon allows a cookie window of just 24 hours, Adorama gives a full 30 day cookie window, which means that you could earn commissions for a customer who purchases nearly a month after clicking on your link!
Unfortunately we were not able to find any information at the time of this writing about the earnings per click or average conversion rate for the Adorama affiliate program, but we will update this blog if we are able to find details.
Terms and Conditions
Adorama actually has a fairly simplistic Affiliate Terms of Agreement with much more limited requirements when compared to other similar affiliate programs.
That being said you will still need to read through and confirm that you agree to their terms prior to signing up for the program.
Upon our investigation two things stood out as important pieces to note:
Pending Commissions
The Adorama Affiliate program pays out commissions in USD 45 days following the shipment of the order that was placed.
Additionally if the product is returned within 45 days, the referral fee will be cancelled or returned.
Including Pricing Information
Because of variations in pricing and availability of products, Adorama specifies that you may NOT include pricing information in your product descriptions or anywhere on your site for the product you are promoting.
Adorama + Geniuslink
While the Impact affiliate network dashboard is one of the more streamlined platforms available for assembling affiliate links, depending on your workflow it is still a bit of a process to create an affiliated product link for Adorama.
With our newly added support, any raw product link direct from adorama.com can be affiliated easily using our Geniuslink dashboard or Chrome Extension. You can rest easy, knowing that a simple link from Adorama is all you need to pass clicks along to their destination with your affiliate parameters included.
We call this process “Auto-affiliation” and it’s very quick to set up. All you need to do is grab your Partner ID (usually 5-7 digits) from the Impact dashboard and drop it into the Affiliate page of the Geniuslink dashboard under ‘Adorama (Impact)’. Once we have that Partner ID number, any geni.us links you build for adorama.com products will have your affiliate parameters appended automatically!
Alternatively, our rollout of Sovrn Commerce (formerly Viglink) support a year ago makes it possible to monetize Adorama links without applying to the Impact managed program directly. There are many reasons for using Sovrn, but signing up for the Adorama affiliate program directly and adding your Media Partner ID into Geniuslink is our recommendation as it allows you to keep 100% of the commissions earned from the program (vs. the ~ 75% that is paid out when using an affiliate aggregator like Sovrn).

A/B Split Links
The Amazon.com Associates program is often a mainstay way to earn commissions from US-based clicks, though we’d encourage you to run an experiment if it’s the best option for your audience and recommended products. The A/B Split Test links provide a platform to closely track between two or more affiliate programs.
Using a A/B Split Test link allows you to compare the performance of Amazon’s affiliate program to the Adorama affiliate program in case you wanted to evaluate replacing your Amazon affiliate links with another affiliate program.
Conclusion
