Converting Amazon Associates links on your WordPress site into intelligent, affiliated, and geo-localized links is easier than ever with with our Amazon Link Engine WordPress plugin. It’s been about a year since we first released the plugin, and since then we’ve received some incredible feedback from our clients.
Well, that feedback did not go unheard, and we’re happy to announce two new key features to make the Amazon Link Engine work even harder for you!
Pick Which “Group” the Plugin Syncs with
One of the great things about using Geniuslink is the ability to use “Groups” to track clicks separately, which gives you deeper insight into which links are working most effectively. With our most recent update, you can now utilize the power of groups within the Amazon Link Engine, by selecting which group the plugin syncs with.
This means that you can now setup the plugin on multiple WordPress sites with different groups to track clicks separately from each site. Alternatively, you can setup a specific group just for WordPress site traffic, in order to separate these clicks from your other traffic sources.
Once you have activated the plugin and synced it with your Geniuslink account using your API keys, all you need to do is simply select the group you’d like to use from the drop down menu under “Using Link Group” in the Amazon Link Engine settings.
Honor Existing Associates IDs
Another feature that has been requested is to allow the Amazon Link Engine to honor existing Amazon Associates IDs already on a site. This is great for blogs that have multiple editors with multiple Associates IDs that are used to track clicks and commissions per editor. This ensures the correct person gets credit for their content by preventing the Amazon Link Engine from overwriting IDs already published.
By default the plugin will overwrite any IDs within your site with the ones you’ve added into your Geniuslink account. In order to honor existing IDs on the page, you must select “Honor Existing Associates IDs” in the checkbox under the advanced settings within the plugin.
So there you have it! Two awesome new features to make our Amazon Link Engine WordPress plugin work even harder for you. If you have any questions about this, or if you think of any other features you’d like to see in our plugins or any of our other tools, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
