Who are you, and what are you currently working on?
I’m Flor Zaccagnino, a travel blogger and content creator from Argentina. My blog started as a hobby, but 6 years ago, I realized it can be more, and it is. It’s my main job. I love writing and sharing the content of my travel and spreading the word about traveling alone and organizing your own trips. Viajeydescubra.com is full of helpful information and experiences of a woman that travels full time.
How did you get started in affiliate marketing? What keeps you excited about it?
I got started 5 years ago, with hotels and transportation tickets. I started studying Affiliate Marketing because I wanted to make a living through passive income. The key was to create the content that my readers wanted to read on my blog—bringing them solutions and answering their questions. My followers and readers believe in me. They know the information I share on my blog is because I tried the services, I used it, and I truly recommend it.
What is one piece of advice you’d give to a newbie affiliate marketer? And what is one piece of advice they should ignore?
You have to grow your audience and build their confidence. You hardly will sell something to anyone that doesn’t know you. Write and offer great content, provide your readers with solutions.
What has been your favorite mistake? A mistake that in retrospect led to a great lesson and progress in your affiliate marketing?
Using affiliate links with URLs that I have to modify individually. For example, if I need to make a modification to any URL with Geniuslink, I only have to edit the link once, and the URL will remain the same. I don’t need to find in my blog all the times I have shared that link. Making this kind of change with genius made my life easier (and the mistake was not knowing this earlier).
What is one piece of software or a web service (besides Geniuslink) that allows you to be more effective as an affiliate marketer?
I use Google Analytics and Search Console to know what the readers are searching for, which words and links are they interested in, and I will create more of those topics or types of posts.
How do you continue to educate yourself as an affiliate marketer? What are some of your favorite resources for learning?
I think I will make online courses and read more about how to grow faster in affiliate marketing.
