The past few months have been incredibly busy here at GeoRiot HQ, and we are very excited to have some new features that will be released in the next few weeks. Our latest dashboard push brings some very important updates to the system including a brand new Groups page, and the ability to assign specific affiliate parameters to individual groups.
“Traffic Sources” got a name change and are now known as “Groups,” but are still a great way to clump together sets of related links for better management and reporting. For example, you might create a group that contains links used on your website, another for links on Facebook, and yet another for your newsletter. Using groups you’ll then be able to separately track and monitor each collection of links individually.
The new “Groups” page now allows you to better manage your various groups by giving you the option to add new, archive / restore old, and even edit the names and descriptions of all of your groups. This makes it much easier for you to customize and organize all of the different groups within your account. Click the “Groups” tab in the top navigation bar to check it out.
In addition to the “Groups” page, we have also reworked how affiliate parameters are managed. Now affiliate parameters are set at the account level, which means they will be used across all groups automatically. Some of our clients, however, require the use of different affiliate parameters with different groups – especially with Amazon links. For these clients, we have added the ability to set affiliate “Overrides” for specific groups, so that they can “override” the default parameters by replacing them with custom ones where required.
To check this feature out, head over to your GeoRiot Dashboard, click on the Affiliate tab at the top of the page, and then select the “Set custom overrides for a link group…” button. You can then simply select your group, click “Set Override” next to the country you wish to change or the “Add a new override” button, and paste in the new parameters. Once you hit “Connect this Program,” you’re all set to monitor each of your groups separately. It’s that easy!
The new Overrides will appear with a crown logo next to them, while all other affiliate programs will remain greyed out with the word “DEFAULT” next to them. If at any point, you need to restore or change any of your Overrides, simply select “Restore Default” next to the country, and it will be returned to the default parameter.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we will be introducing many new updates to the dashboard. These include new reporting features like Group level reporting and new attributes such as tracking tags, referrers, devices, and operating systems.
We hope that these new features will serve you well. We always love feedback from our clients, so if you have any questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to let us know!
