Who are you and what are you currently working on?
I am an affiliate marketer, a blogger, and a father of 4 years old boy. I focus on teaching people how to make a living from affiliate marketing, my new blog dedicated to that.
Right now, I am working on creating an online course to teach beginners the main 4 steps to make consistent income through affiliate marketing.
How did you get started in affiliate marketing? What keeps you excited about it?
About 5 years ago, I was jumping around from Amazon FBA, dropshipping, SEO services, and much more. I was losing money on each project.
One day I saw a Facebook ad to join an affiliate marketing forum – STM, and I did. A couple of weeks later, the STM founders announced the publishing of an affiliate marketing course, I took it, it was a 6 weeks challenge to make money.
And I did. My first Pops campaigns generated about $5 in profit and I was so happy, I knew then it works!
From there, I grow every month, I built a virtual team and now I teach people how to do the same through my blog AffiliateGhost.com
What is one piece of advice you’d give to a newbie affiliate marketer? And what is one piece of advice they should ignore?
They should focus on one traffic source only. They can choose Facebook, Google, Push, Native, or even Pops traffic. Jumping from a traffic source to another will only confuse them. Learn one source, master it, and then choose the next one.
On the other hand, they should ignore anyone promising them a passive income, there is no such thing in affiliate marketing, at least until you build a team but even then you still have to put some work and manage your team. At last, it is a business you have to run.
What has been your favorite mistake? A mistake that in retrospect led to a great lesson and progress in your affiliate marketing?
Not building a team quickly was definitely my biggest mistake. I used to do everything by myself, choosing offers, research a niche, building websites and landing pages, tracking, design creatives, and much more.
Although I used to spend at least 10 hours per day working on all those aspects, I now learned all those skills. If one of my team is sick or not available, I can immediately jump in and take his place because I have done it before.
What is one piece of software or a web service (besides Geniuslink) that allows you to be more effective as an affiliate marketer?
Voluum to track all my campaign performance. Every affiliate marketer must track all his campaigns every day. You cannot improve what you cannot measure.
How do you continue to educate yourself as an affiliate marketer? What are some of your favorite resources for learning?
Definitely forums. My favorite 2 forums are STM and IamAffiliate. The journey is hard and we need link-minded people to help us along the way.
If people wanted to connect with you, where should we point them to?
AffiliateGhost.com or via the Facebook page.
