GeoRiot Dashboard Gets Six New Metrics and a Fresh Design.

Our noses are still to the grindstone over here at GeoRiot as we continue to listen to your needs and develop the features to fill them. On that note, we’re excited to unveil another big step forward in our conquest for actionable reporting via the GeoRiot dashboard! The improvements on the home page being rolled out today include a striking visual refresh with a number of new metrics to look at your traffic in easier to digest chunks.

First off, with a splash of paint we’ve improved the design of the Account Performance Report.  You’ll find the same information about clicks and commissions now with the addition of an Earnings Per Click option to track how successful each were at yielding commissions over time.

The big updates show up next.  We understood that having information about your top groups, countries, and links was a good start, but it wasn’t enough. Today’s release includes reporting on six new metrics including Tracking Tags, Product Types, Referrers, Devices, Operating Systems, and Browsers.

Tracking Tags Tab Tags – Have you been using Tracking Tags on your links?  If so, see a breakdown of performance based on those tags with this report.

Product Types – Check out which types of links result in the most clicks from your traffic.

Referrers – For web based links, the referrer shows where your links are getting clicked.  This is a good way to compare activity between your social channels or other placements of your links.

Devices – Mobile, desktop, or bot? Get an in-depth look at who is consuming your links by the device breakdown.

Operating Systems (OSes) – Similar to devices, having an understanding of what types of operating systems your customers are using can help plan your strategy.  Seeing iTunes or App Store content getting consumed on Android or Windows devices?

  Maybe you should think about including links to similar content in the Amazon ecosystem to further increase conversions.

Browsers – The browsers report is especially useful when you use GeoRiot links with in-app cross-promotion. This report tells you which apps pushed your links the most often.


For each report you’ll also find icons in the upper right of the box to easily toggle the data between a table view and pie chart for a detailed look at your data, or an easy overall visual.

Near the bottom of the page you’ll find an breakdown of the world to give you show you which countries are your most profitable.

The next update you’ll see rolled out is this new style of reporting applied to the individual Performance Report pages, followed shortly by the addition of Performance Reports by Group.

One last thing…

If you look closely at the table view for any of the reports mentioned above you may notice a few columns that are missing data: commissions, earnings per click (EPC), and conversion. This is because, in addition to showing you the traffic per metric (clicks), we also want to include how much each metric was contributing to your bottom line (commissions), how efficient it was to adding to that bottom line (EPC) and how likely it was in actually selling the item you were marketing (conversions) for your iTunes and App Store clicks.

Reporting for these three additional data points, by metric, are just a few weeks behind. However, they require an extra step from you.

The first step to getting this more detailed reporting, if you haven’t already done so, is to opt-in to our commission reporting.  This can be done by clicking on the yellow “Enable commission reporting” buttons on the “Affiliate” page in the dashboard, then following the instructions provided.  This enables GeoRiot to import all of your sales and commission information from around the world and sum it up into a single currency and time zone and report it alongside your existing GeoRiot reports.

The second step, which has just been added, is turning on “Conversion Tracking” on the “Account” page of the GeoRiot dashboard.  While preserving your self-assigned tracking tags in our database this next step allows us to leverage the tracking provided by the iTunes affiliate program in a systematic approach in order to gather the detailed data mentioned above.  Please note that your historical data for the additional data points will only go back to the date you turn this on so we encourage you to do it now.
