We’re thrilled to announce Geniuslink auto-affiliation support for the Wayfair affiliates program! With a selection of more than 18 million items across home furnishings, décor, home improvement, and housewares, Wayfair is one of the world’s largest online destinations for the home, and is quickly becoming a household name among consumers.

With the addition of the Wayfair + Geniuslink integration, you can now build links and earn commissions through the Wayfair affiliate program easier than ever!

Overview

Founded by entrepreneurs Niraj Shah and Steve Conine in August 2002, Wayfair (originally CSN Stores), began on a shoestring budget in a spare bedroom as a collection of largely disparate e-commerce storefronts for specific products, like cookware.com, everyatomicclock.com, and strollers.com. By carefully analyzing internet search patterns, Steve and Niraj began recognizing additional market opportunities to sell niche products, and CSN Stores quickly grew to more than 250 standalone sites, selling everything from barstools to birdhouses.

In 2011, Steve and Niraj took a gamble and moved all of their e-commerce sites into one mega-destination for the home and named it Wayfair. By the next year, Wayfair had exceeded $600 million in annual revenue and was well on its way to becoming a household name, offering millions of products across a wide array of styles and price points.

Today, Wayfair continues to grow rapidly and gain trust with consumers, becoming an increasingly popular competitor for home furnishings, offering over 18 million products across five distinct brands – Wayfair.com, AllModern, Birch Lane, Joss & Main, and Perigold. Wayfair is now ranked as the 182nd most popular website in the world, 50th in the US, and 28th in the world for the “eCommerce and Shopping” category according to SimilarWeb.

Wayfair Affiliate Program

With a huge selection of home goods, the Wayfair Affiliate Program is a great alternative for those looking to diversify their affiliate portfolio and get away from using only the Amazon Associates program.

The Wayfair Affiliate program is a well-established affiliate program run through CJ Affiliate, and offers more than 10 million products across all major home categories, giving you more product choices and review opportunities than ever before.

Customers receive FREE two-day shipping, great deals, and real customer service, which guarantees a comparable, (if not superior) experience to Amazon when shopping for home goods.

Commission Rates and Cookie Windows

Wayfair offers up to 7% commissions with average order sizes of $300, comparable with Amazon’s Outdoors category, (which at time of writing) is currently offering 7% commissions while the Furniture/Home/Home Improvement category is at 8%.

It’s fair to say Amazon competes strongly with Wayfair’s 7% commission on its home and garden offerings, but Wayfair beats Amazon on referral window length – with a 7-day cookie, converting at almost 2%* with an average commission of $23.45*. With the inclusion of great benefits like in-house management to help you with registration, product linking, and content curation, it’s hard to deny that Wayfair doesn’t offer a strong incentive for affiliates seeking new opportunities to diversify their revenue.

Wayfair + Geniuslink

While the CJ Affiliate network dashboard is one of the more streamlined platforms available for assembling affiliate links, depending on your workflow it is still a bit of a process to create an affiliated product link for Wayfair.

With our newly added support, any raw product link direct from Wayfair.com can be affiliated easily using our Geniuslink dashboard or Chrome Extension. You can rest easy, knowing that a simple link from Wayfair is all you need to pass clicks along to their destination with your affiliate parameters included.

We call this process “Auto-affiliation” and it’s very quick to set up. All you need to do is grab your Affiliate Program ID (“Property ID”) and Account ID from the CJ Affiliate Dashboard and drop it into the Affiliate page of the Geniuslink dashboard under ‘Wayfair US (CJ Affiliate)’. Once we have those ID’s, any geni.us links you build for Wayfair.com products will have your affiliate parameters appended automatically!

Alternatively, our rollout of Sovrn Commerce (formerly Viglink) support a year ago makes it possible to monetize Wayfair links without applying to the CJ Affiliate managed program directly. There are many reasons for using Sovrn, but signing up for the Wayfair affiliate program directly and adding your Site ID into Geniuslink is our recommendation as it allows you to keep 100% of the commissions earned from the program (vs. the ~ 75% that is paid out when using an affiliate aggregator like Sovrn).

Excited to dig in and get started using Geniuslink with the Wayfair affiliate program? Great! We have a few suggestions to help you diversify your affiliate revenues through augmenting your Amazon affiliate links.

Choice Pages

We’ve been doubling down on Choice Pages and maintaining our stance that curation and choice are good for the consumer (and ultimately, you). If you’re not familiar, they enable you to promote a single product across multiple storefronts and thanks to our new Suggestions feature, it’s easier than ever to build them! Providing options to your visitors will improve their shopping experience and you’ll monetize the sale no matter which storefront they end up picking. More info on how to set up a Choice Page can be found in our Knowledge Base.

You can see an example here — geni.us/kitchenaid-mixer

With a Choice Page, you can promote Amazon and Wayfair affiliate links side by side in a clean, intuitive way, and help diversify your affiliate revenue – which from our research this actually helps increase your affiliate earnings

A/B Split Links

The Amazon.com Associates program is often a mainstay way to earn commissions from US-based clicks, though we’d encourage you to run an experiment if it’s the best option for your audience and recommended products. The A/B Split Test links provide a platform to closely track between two or more affiliate programs.

Using an A/B Split Test link allows you to compare the performance of Amazon’s affiliate program to the Wayfair affiliate program in case you wanted to evaluate replacing your Amazon affiliate links with another affiliate program.

Conclusion

With the addition of the Wayfair Affiliate program, we have now increased our total affiliate program support to over 18 different affiliate programs! Additionally, with the recent launch of our Suggestions feature (which will automatically offer you suggested links to Wayfair products), we’re more fired up than ever to add additional affiliate programs to our roster, so stay tuned in the coming months as even more great programs are added in!
