Amazon.in is an enormous marketplace, catering to the largest country in the world in terms of population and the fifth largest economy.

However, when many Amazon Associates attempt to signup for the program, they realize that the Amazon Associates India program has a unique requirement: commissions can only be paid out to local bank accounts, a stipulation driven by government regulations.

This hurdle has prevented many creators and affiliates from monetizing their Indian audience, leaving potential earnings on the table.

After years of research and exploring different solutions, the Geniuslink team is excited to announce that we’ve found a method to earn and withdraw funds from Amazon Associates India.

This is all made possible thanks to a service called Cuelinks.

In this guide we’ll cover:

  • How to sign up for the Amazon Associates India program via CueLinks and some details you need to know about this method.
  • How to use Geniuslink in order to actually direct Indians Amazon India.
  • How to get money out of Cuelinks to your international bank account

How to Sign Up for Cuelinks Amazon Associates India

To get started, head to Cuelinks.com and click Join Now in the top right corner. The signup process is pretty quick, however Cuelinks usually takes about 24-48 hours to review and approve your account.

After signing up, you’ll receive three emails:

1. The first email, with the subject line ‘Confirmation instructions’ will arrive immediately after you sign up.

2. After clicking the confirmation link in the first email, you’ll receive a second email with the subject ‘Cuelinks – Your account verification was successful.’

3. Finally, you’ll get a third email titled  ‘Cuelinks – Your account has been approved’ once your account is approved.

Besides confirming your email address via the first email, you can disregard the content of the second and third emails.

Step 2: Apply for access to the Amazon India Campaign

Once your account has been approved on Cuelinks, you will need to apply for access to the Amazon India campaign.

To do this, locate the Amazon.in campaign in the Campaign Explorer, or click this link. Select your channel URL and briefly describe where you’ll be posting your links, as seen below:

Once you’re finished, the request will be reviewed by the Cuelinks team, who should approve your request within 1-2 business days.

Step 3: Getting Your Amazon.in Tracking ID (One time Activity)

Once you’ve been approved for the Amazon.in campaign, then you are ready for this next step.

Head back to the Amazon.in campaign and click the green button to “GENERATE LINK” in the middle of the page. For this step, we’re simply after our Cuelinks tracking ID.

To do this, first generate this link from the base amazon.in that’s there by default.

Copy your affiliated link, and paste it into your browser.

So for example, if I was given: https://linksredirect.com/?cid=167541&source=linkkit&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.in%2F

I would paste it into my browser and see that the link redirects to:

https://www.amazon.in/?tag=cuelinkss26504-21&ascsubtag=20240815clrbba2bzzd5

Our tracking ID is everything following the ?tag= and before the &.

So in this case it’s cuelinkss26504-21.

We now have our Amazon Associates India tracking ID, and are ready to input into to our Geniuslink account.

Adding Your CueLinks Amazon Associates ID to Geniuslink

Geniuslink Localization landing

This next step involves you to have a Geniuslink account. If you don’t have one already, we have a 14-day free trial where you can give us a test completely risk free. We have a handful of features that help Amazon Associates maximize commissions from their affiliate links.

For example, geni.us links can automatically recognize the country your audience is clicking from, and send them to the same version of that product on the best Amazon region for them, automatically, while retaining the affiliate parameters.

Once inside of our Geniuslink account, we’ll want to click the Affiliate tab on the navigation bar.

Next, click add a program, and find Amazon India on this list.

Paste in the Cuelinks ID we identified in the previous step.

Click connect this program, and now we’re done!

Now, anytime one of our Amazon Affiliate links is clicked from an audience member in India, they’ll automatically be redirected to the version of the product recommendation on Amazon.in (assuming it exists), along with our Amazon Associates India Affiliate ID.

How to get Money Out of Cuelinks

After you’ve collected a decent amount of affiliate commissions from the Amazon Associates India program on Cuelinks, you’ll want to coordinate a payout.

On the navigation bar on the left side, click “My Payment Details.”

From here, click add bank details, and then enter your bank information.

Cuelinks will take a 25% fee on any payouts which is certainly not ideal, but at the same time, they are providing a service for those locked out of the Amazon Associates India program. In addition, this saves you from having to fill out some expensive and complicated tax forms from the Indian Government.

Conclusion

Alright everyone, that’s all we have for today on collecting affiliate commissions from Amazon Associates India.

We know that it’s a lot of steps, but on the bright side it really only needs to be implemented once.

As we mentioned above, India is a large world economy and has an enormous population, so depending on your audience analytics, you could be leaving a large portion of your affiliate earnings on the table by not setting this up.

Amazon India also runs an enormous sale yearly during Diwali, which is occurring Oct 31 to Nov 1 in 2024, where sales skyrocket, so be sure to implement this before hand!

If there any other Amazon Associates regions you’d like us to make a tutorial for, feel free to drop us a comment.
