Newegg Affiliate Program + Geniuslink

Contents is officially the eighth affiliate program we’ve added auto-affiliation support for, and we’re very excited about the opportunities it presents. Tech reviewers, PC build influencers, and streamers that regularly recommend PC components and consumer electronics to their audience can now build affiliate links smoother than 144hz!

Founded in 2001 by Fred Chang, Newegg is the leading tech-focused e-retailer in North America, with a global reach into more than 79 countries across Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.

Known best across North America for their great sales on PC components, they’ve grown into a broader storefront offering consumer electronics of all stripes, software & office solutions, and even autoparts.

Newegg is consistently ranked as one of the best online shopping destinations, and they’re currently ranked as the 1733rd most popular website in the world, 369th in the US and 16th in its category of Computers, Electronics, and Technology according to SimilarWeb.

Affiliate Program

PC enthusiasts are all too familiar with the fierce loyalty that Newegg commands in the space, due in large part to their industry-leading customer service ratings. As a tech affiliate, we hope you’ll appreciate how easy we’ve made it to build affiliate links to Newegg products!

Newegg’s affiliate program was managed by CJ Affiliate Network since 2015, but very recently was transferred over to Rakuten Marketing

When building a link, choosing between the Newegg and Amazon affiliate programs can be an intricate process.

While Amazon pays more commission for PC components like motherboards, graphics cards, and CPUs (2.5% compared to Newegg’s 1% or 0.5% for ‘returning customers’) Newegg also offers their publishers better rates based on publisher type, such as Editorial or Content Creator. Additionally, Newegg offers a 7 day attribution window, which is much more flexible than Amazon’s 24hr window.

Unfortunately, Newegg offers no commission at all for TVs, cell phones, PC/video games, and video game consoles. As an affiliate, if you’re promoting any of those products, best to do so using links to Amazon or another affiliate program altogether.

When it comes to geo-fragmentation, Newegg is doing pretty good – they’re nearly fully consolidated. The majority of their international traffic passes through the global storefront of, though they do operate a separate store for businesses – as well as a separate storefront for Canada ( and soon, a Newegg Asia-Pacific program, all available through Rakuten. Both and have individual affiliate programs that may also be worth signing up for, if you’re a tycoon like that.

When we originally published this blog in 2019, Skimlinks reported that the average earnings per click (EPC) for Newegg links was $0.05 and the average commission rate was 0.9%. While Skimlinks no longer provides support for Newegg as of 2022, data from 2021 indicates that this rate has increased slightly to about $0.07. Sovrn Commerce doesn’t provide an average EPC but does report a slightly higher commission rate of 0.96%. By comparison, we see’s EPC around $0.05.

The Newegg affiliate program’s terms and conditions can be viewed by logging into your Rakuten Marketing dashboard and following this link. From that page, locate the ‘Terms’ section and click ‘View’. They’re pretty quick to read through and straightforward, but there are two points of interest:

Usage Limitations
Newegg affiliate links are not allowed to be used in Paid Search or Facebook ads, but affiliates can still share links in Email or on Social Networks, which means the usage limitations for Newegg are comparable to Amazon’s own policies.

‘Nexus’ Rules
Take some time to make sure that you understand and are compliant with Newegg’s Nexus Rules, found in section 2-6 of their terms. For US residents, these rules apply depending on what state you work in, but as of 2022, Newegg only has Nexus issues in Florida and Missouri. Make sure you’re compliant before you get carried away building too many links! Questions can be directed to

Newegg + Geniuslink

While the Rakuten Marketing affiliate network dashboard offers effective tools for building out affiliate links, at times it can feel like a process to take a specific product link from Newegg and convert it into a fully functioning affiliate link.

With our newly added support, any product link can now be affiliated easily using the Geniuslink dashboard alone. Rest easy, knowing that all clicks on your link will be sent to the correct destination as using a properly formatted affiliate tracking link.

We call this process “Auto-affiliation” and it’s very simple to set up. All you need to do is grab your Partner ID from the Rakuten Marketing dashboard and drop it into the Geniuslink dashboard Affiliate page. Once we have that ID, any links you build for products will have your affiliate parameters appended automatically.

Our rollout of Sovrn Commerce and Skimlinks support earlier this year also enables you to monetize links through either of these monetization platforms. There are many reasons for using Sovrn Commerce or Skimlinks, but signing up for the Newegg affiliate program directly and adding your Account Number directly into Geniuslink allows you to keep 100% of your commissions earned from the program (vs. the ~ 75% that is paid out when using an affiliate aggregator).

Excited to dig in and get started using Geniuslink with the Newegg affiliate program? That’s great! We’ve got a couple suggestions if you‘re up for trying something new and want to experiment with augmenting your existing Amazon affiliate links.

A/B Split Links – While the Associates program is often a mainstay for earning commissions from US-based clicks, we’d encourage you to test if its the best performing option for your audience and recommended products. Our A/B Split Test links provide a platform to closely track the relative performance of two or more affiliate programs using just one link!

For example, click this link a few times and note the destinations —

Choice Pages – We continue to emphasize that curation and choice is good for the consumer and we’ve built out Choice Pages to enable you to promote a single product across multiple storefronts, putting the choice in your shoppers’ hands (either way, you’ll monetize the sale). With Choice Pages, we bet you’ll see a boost in overall conversions and total commissions. More info on how to set up a Choice Page can be found in our Knowledge Base.

You can see an example here —

With a Choice Page you can promote Amazon and Newegg affiliate links side by side in a clean, easy to buy way.

What’s Next

We’re not finished yet! We’ll continue to support even more affiliate programs with auto-affiliation support, so you can monetize your links across a host of different affiliate networks. There’s still plenty of programs we’re excited to add!

If you just can’t wait for auto-affiliation of a particular program, you can get instant access to thousands of affiliate programs via our integrations with Sovrn Commerce and Skimlinks

A list of the affiliate programs we currently support can be found on our website and if you’d like to get involved, you can vote for which programs we’ll add next in our private Facebook group for Geniuslink users.

We look forward to hearing from you!
