If you’re an Amazon Affiliate then you are likely familiar with the commission rates for referred sales. You get X% commission after you refer a buyer for a given product. But some may not be as familiar with the bounties that the Amazon Associates programs payout.
What’s a bounty, you ask? Besides helping Amazon sell products you can encourage your audience to things, such as signing up for an Amazon Prime trial, creating an Amazon Baby Registry, and recommending Audible subscriptions, which can earn you a decent-sized bounty. Amazon maintains a lengthy chart of various actions you can refer to, and the bounty paid for each. For example, successfully referring an Amazon Business account can earn you $15 per action. That could be much more profitable than referring video games with a 1% commission.
And as you probably assume, correctly affiliating the links for those actions is essential to earning those sweet bounties. However, doing this for a global audience takes some finesse!
For example, the links for the landing pages promoting those actions are frequently different per Amazon storefront (eg. Amazon.com Twitch Prime: www.amazon.com/b/?node=15195001011 vs. Amazon.de Twitch Prime: www.amazon.de/b/?node=11365543031).
And on top of a changing link structure, the link also needs to be correctly tagged with your affiliate tracking ID (eg. Amazon.com Associates tags end in “-20” while Amazon.de Associates tags end with “-21”) or you will lose out on those sweet bounties for all of your international audience.
At Geniuslink we’ve long held the idealistic vision that your links should just work for your whole audience and Geni.us links have supported global affiliation for Black Friday and provided universal Prime Day links for several years.
However, we’ve significantly revamped our support for earning bounties recently and now Geniuslink will globalize and affiliate most link for landing pages!
Jump below to start building links to these top landing pages.
Please Note
The links to these landing pages use a different format than the product links on Amazon. As a result, we can’t use our patented link translation process to find international equivalents. Instead, we’ve built a new model to ensure your recommendations work for your international audience and result in the remuneration you deserve. But with anything new, there are a few nuances so it’s important to state that this support is still in beta!
As Amazon doesn’t provide an API that tells us about these landing pages we have to manually find, then match them up and have happily done so, so your links will now work auto-magically.
But it’s a moving target! New storefronts roll out new functionality regularly. We’ll keep an eye on things but please let us know when we’ve missed an update and one of the international Amazon storefronts now offers a service that yields a bounty.
It’s important to also note that when building short geni.us links in the dashboard that for the moment you can ignore the visualizer tool that shows the international translations. Instead to understand how your link works internationally you can use the testing notes below.
Finally, it’s important to note that the format of these links is not very consistent. As a result, we encourage you to use the links listed below to build your geni.us links off of instead of browsing throughout the Amazon site. The URLs from navigating around the Amazon store can get long (and ugly!) fast and the inclusion of certain parameters in odd orders can cause challenges with this new link translation and auto-affiliation.
Testing
While we appreciate your blind trust that our links will just work (and we work hard to earn that trust!), you can verify they work by testing them!
We have two link formats that are regularly used and the testing for each varies slightly.
For our short “geni.us/___” links you can simply add “/iso2/XX” to the end of the link where “XX” is the two-letter country code you want to check. More details in our Knowledge Base.
For our longer-form “Quick Build” links that are generated when you use our Amazon Link Engine WordPress plugin or our Javascript snippet, you would add “&targetiso2=XX” to the end of the link. Again, the “XX” is replaced with the two-letter country code you want to check. Additional details in our Knowledge Base.
For your convenience, the links below are all hyperlinked and since we use the Amazon Link Engine WP plugin, you’ll notice that clicking on any of the links will take the relevant landing page in your local Amazon storefront!
